About the Historian

The Roman History Timeline and the Encyclopedia of Southern Italy are the work of historian Robert Steven Rizzolo.

Born in San Jose, California, Rizzolo studied history at West Valley Community College and San Jose State University. His working life has spanned independent academic research, private investigation, and years as an editor and writer for the Italian American News of San Jose. He is the owner of OSCAN Press, a member of the Archaeological Institute of America, and a Marquis Who’s Who listee, receiving the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.

His interests — archaeology, astronomy, numismatics, genealogy — run through every page of this work. He originally published it at ResearchItaly.us; it is preserved here with his permission.
